Maybelline Shiny•Licious Lip Gloss

Photobucket
I'm not the kind of person that likes bold lip color. Even using lip stain is a stretch for me, though it's perfect if I want a more dramatic look. But I love a really great shiny gloss. I steered away from those lip juices because they seemed too runny and always rubbed off to quickly. But I really love these great little tubes of lip gloss. They're thick enough to have longer wear, but the shine is the best part. I use #70 Caramella and it's such a perfect shiny coat of everyday wearable gloss that I carry two tubes. One for my purse and one in my car. And it's a steal for around $6. One tube will last me a good two months! And if you really want to set off your lip stains, pair it with these glosses and you've got an amazing combination.

DO they make this any other colors? Is this the best color you saw for red heads?

One thing I've heard people complain about with this gloss is that it doesn't have a lot of pigment in it. This is true of this color, too, but it has a silvery bronze sheen to it, which makes it a more understated but super shiny coat. The lack of pigment would almost mean that any color of this lip gloss would work with most skin tones, and you can change it to your liking with an under layer of lipstick or stain.

That being said, there are a lot of different colors, a couple of which I want to try: Raiz'n Razzle and Sugar Plum. Both are on the neutral side and would be perfect for redheads. But I'm chicken when it comes to doing something daring with my lips, so I'd say try any color you really love and see if it works for you. Lolli Pink has me intrigued for something more springy. :) I may even pick up a new shade today and let you know!

This is why it's so good we both do this site, Missy. I'm more of a lip stain gal and you are a lip gloss gal. The best of both sides. Something for everyone.

ok, great, I am going to have to try this. I am more of a lip gloss girl, and the stain, where i do like it, it is more me for a date. It's very...PINK! And I just can't pull it off for every day. Can't wait to try this one. I like more muted neutral tones on my lips too, since mine are already so red from scars i have from biting my lips!

I went to the store last night to check out the rest of the collection of the Shiny•licious line and was really disappointed. Seemed promising on the website but I had to keep myself from just buying another Caramella (I seriously love the color that much) instead of wasting money on a gloss I know I'd never wear. So, this is a great gloss, but I really only like the one color. Let me know if anyone else has better luck with any other shades!

I'm still on the hunt for other inexpensive gloss, we'll see if any of them win me over like this one did!

I bought this yesterday when I was at Walmart. It was only $4 there. I really like it. I ended up getting the caramella. The other colors looked to bright to me. Thanks for letting us know about it.

I'm definitely more of a lip gloss gal -- can't remember the last time I actually wore lipstick! (I like to put gloss over a liner -- works great!) Please enter me in the contest as well!
